Social Media vs. Child Abuse

Astoria Plaza Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City was the venue for the "Para sa mga Bata: Social Media vs. Child Abuse. An Online and Real Space Forum" by the Council for the Welfare or Children-DSWD, in partnership with NCCT, CIDG, and Para sa mga Bata Citizens Network. 


With the tagline "Empowering Citizens to Protect Children," this was the first social media users' day of action against child abuse.  

Local legislation for child protection is imperative
I encourage the public to check out the PNP website http://www.cidgangelnet.ph/site/ to get acquainted with the program of actions of the agency against all forms of internet exploitation and abuse of children and what one may do if in case they encounter such situation.

Parents are asked to be more vigilant of their kids' use of the internet, and especially of social media where bullying abounds. The new mantra of social media users against child abuse --- "Child abuse, I dislike!"
